The World In Paper

We are a couple of philatelists from Brazil (Anaclara) and the Netherlands (Daniël) who continued our families stamp collections. We are both in Postcrossing and enjoy postcards, franks, first day covers and all kinds of things related to writing letters. We also happen to be (surprise!) big nerds who enjoy (not necessarily in that order) comics, online games, books, and photography. We hope you enjoy this tumblr and spread the word. Oh, we also like to call ourselves the Queen and King of Hearts. ...yup.

  • This one was a postcard that Xenia herself sent me, so beautiful! She tells me it’s called Kalevala, and it’s a national epic poem in the area she lives, both from Karelian and Finnish folklore. In her words “This story is beautiful and plot is rather adventurous too”. Here’s what’s on the back of it:

    Tamara Jufa (born in 1937)

My sorrows are excruciating. 1979. Paper, mixted technique.

The collection of the Karelian Museum of Fine Arts.

    I loved it! <3
