The World In Paper

We are a couple of philatelists from Brazil (Anaclara) and the Netherlands (Daniël) who continued our families stamp collections. We are both in Postcrossing and enjoy postcards, franks, first day covers and all kinds of things related to writing letters. We also happen to be (surprise!) big nerds who enjoy (not necessarily in that order) comics, online games, books, and photography. We hope you enjoy this tumblr and spread the word. Oh, we also like to call ourselves the Queen and King of Hearts. ...yup.

  • So the story goes like this: Brazil has released some very pretty franks these days, with different shapes and images and I wanted to collect them but I didn’t knew how.

I could collect the first day envelopes in which the franks come, but I really don’t have that passion for the envelopes… somehow they don’t get my love. I just wanted the franks, only them in a clear pretty way, all of them together. So I researched and found that this is called Marcophily and that I wanted to do it! But for the life of me I couldn’t find anything saying how you should collect these marks and if there were rules or guidelines as to how you would collect the franks.

SO I decided I should get myself some notebook without any lines or marks and ask the central philatelic agency lady to put the franks in it so I could have a notebook of franks. I won’t have the other awesome franks from other countries because god knows I will NEVER cut the envelopes in which I received the sweet mail that other people put together for me. But hey, it’s a start. So here it is, with the help of the lovely lady from the central philatelic agency of Porto Alegre: my marcophilatic collection! <3

P.S: Any material on Marcophily will be VERY welcome! Anyone?
